Blogging again!

I just looked back and noticed the last time I blogged anywhere was almost two months ago!  Crazy.

I'm knitting a lot more - YAY for good meds and for going gluten free.  I feel so much better!

I made this cute little top for David's soon-to-be-born daughter.  I love baby girl clothes!

Knitting Again

I'm working on an easy wingspan shawl.  My stitches are not even, and some days I can barely do one row.  But I'm knitting again!!!

I finally am knitting again because I finally have a diagnosis and am treating my medical issues.  Last week I was diagnosed with both Rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. This was confirmation by a rheumatologist of my initial diagnosis (done by my orthopaedic surgeon).  Fortunately, I was able to get into Duke Rheumatology, and even though this all is very scary, I have confidence in my doctors.

(And my doctors say I can knit!)

Some day I'll knit again...?

The wrists are actually getting worse.  After two cortisone shots, I'm not seeing any progress and I have two new cysts.  On Tuesday they put me on arthritis medicine.  The next step is an MRI on Monday.  Then lab tests.  Then meeting with a surgeon.  I'm trying not to get too worried or sad, but seriously this sucks.

Still No Knitting

Still no knitting, but it's looking and feeling better.  Hopefully I'll be back at normal life in a couple weeks!

And I had to share this picture of Kyle at his soccer game - he's having so much fun with soccer this year (particularly this game in the rain and mud!)

No Knitting Update

So here's what I've been dealing with for the last 3 weeks.  I was almost done the shawl for Christy and then I went from no pain to horrible pain in 3 days.

See that bump?  It's a lipoma.  And according to the ortho it's not actually what's causing all my pain.  Three of my tendon are 'inflamed'.  So far I've taken steroids, loads of ibuprophen, and then yesterday she gave me my first cortisone shot (thus the bit of bruising on the right side of my wrist).  Once I got the feeling back in my fingers, the pain set in.  Supposedly it should feel better tomorrow or the next day.  I certainly hope so.  Once this side feels better I've got at least one more and maybe two more shots to go.

So no knitting for at least another month!
The view on my drive to work yesterday - love the red rainbow!

Office Art

So not a whole lot of knitting has been happening lately.  Work is busy and I'm taking an accounting class and most of ny free time has gone to my kids or my husband.  I haven't even been out with friends in ages.  So here's a bit of office art - post-its and a paper clip!
